2016 Finger Lakes Kennel Club Good Sportsmanship Award

2016 Finger Lakes Kennel Club Good Sportsmanship Award

Shortly after she got married in 1969, this member got her first English Setter, from fellow member Ann Hubbell. She applied to the club in late 1971 and was voted into membership in early 1972. She was honored with Life Membership in 1992.

This member has held almost every position in the club: President, Vice President, Secretary, many terms on the Board and served on the Ethics Committee. Throughout her membership her family has owned hunting Beagles and various other breeds. Recently she has owned Tibetan Spaniels with her current breed being Miniature Poodles. She shows in Conformation and Agility, and has earned a Dual Championship (Breed Champion and Master Agility Champion) on one of her Poodles. She continues to serve the club to this date as our current Match Show Secretary, Agility Trial Chair and Vice President.

It is with much appreciation that we present CAROL SRNKA with the 2016 Finger Lakes Kennel Club Good Sportsmanship Award.DSCN1325

She was a life member, officer and board member of both the Ithaca Dog Training Club, where she was also an instructor, and the Finger Lakes Kennel Club and was a recipient of the Gaines Medal for Good Sportsmanship from the Finger Lakes Kennel Club. Congratulations Marg Pough and Pipit!

Congratulations Marg Pough and Pipit!

Pipit finished her Grand Championship at the North Country Kennel Club show by going Best of Breed for 4 GCh points in a supported entry.   And, she topped the day with a Group 4!   (behind 3 professional handlers.)

Pipit was breeder/owner/handled to all her points and her Grand Champion points.   She finished her Grand with 5 major wins at Supported entries.  She has been shown only at Supported entries, the Border Terrier Club of America (BTCA) National Specialty, or local shows.     Pipit is now co-owned by our young friend Lauren Moore, who showed her at the BTCA National in 2013, and 2014 and at Westminster in 2014 where she was Lauren’s last Juniors dog.

Pipit is now GCh Bandersnatch Defying Gravity CA.
