The Finger Lakes Kennel Club, Inc. would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to you to become a member. Here is the membership application:
We invite you to connect with others who share the love of dogs. Club members participate in many competitive events including conformation showing, obedience, rally, agility, Earth Dog tests, lure coursing, tracking, hunt tests, hunting, or just simply enjoy owning dogs. Our membership represents nearly 50 AKC recognized breeds and offers years of experience to draw upon. Many are active in rescue organizations, training, and breeding.
We work together to promote dogs and responsible dog ownership. Club members help to educate our local communities by sponsoring events, training classes, and health clinics and monitoring legislation regarding dogs and dog ownership. The Club supports veterinary students with annually awarded scholarship funding, K-9 Police Dog teams, the SPCA, and Cornell University’s Baker Institute for Animal Health — one of the oldest research centers dedicated to the study of veterinary infectious diseases, immunology, genetics, and reproduction.
Please consider coming to a monthly meeting, which is held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm, usually at the Baker Institute on Cornell University’s campus on Hungerford Hill Rd., Ithaca. To become a member you simply join us for three meetings and turn in a membership application form which can be obtained from the Club secretary. The application will be read to the membership and voted on in a subsequent meeting. Yearly dues are $10 for an individual and $15 for couples.
