Congratulations to Jacob Ragusa – FLKC’s 2019 Good Sportsmanship Award Recipient

There seems to be a tradition when presenting this award to present these bios anonymously. To give the audience a chance to see if they can identify the person before we reach the end of the description. This is not an easy task!

I found it interesting when looking at definitions of sportsmanship that “determination” was part of one such definition. Determination is a large part of how we picked the recipient for 2019.
This member has consistently demonstrated *determination* to keep the club moving forward. From stepping into an empty position in the club to helping out at events, to the physical creation of materials to be used at our events, this member has demonstrated determination in so many ways.
Many of us have had the honor of knowing this member before they were old enough to join the club. We have watched this member succeed from their time in 4-H to moving away for a chance to get an education from others in the dog community, and relatively recently moved back and now sharing that knowledge with the next generation of 4Hers.
When the club needed a treasurer, this member stepped into that position when asked. From the match and a new ramp to woodchuck eradication and then the maintenance of dens at earth dog, we’ve seen this member’s determination for the club to succeed in a multitude of ways.

It is my pleasure to present the 2019 Finger Lakes Kennel Club Good Sportsmanship Award to Jacob Ragusa.
